Place Value Review

Most districts begin every math unit with place value. I was visiting Pitner's Potpourri recently and came across this great idea for reviewing Place Value that she called a Place Value Marathon. See her post here

I took this idea and created one to meet my classroom needs. My marathon works on place value through the hundred thousands, so this is great for the upper elementary and can be adapted for lower elementary.

  9. I love it! This would make a great warmup activity. Could you send it (or post it here) as a PDF for easy printing? The cute fonts didn't translate well and it's not opening properly in Word.

  18. Hello! I love this activity! The only problem is I teach third grade and we don't teach numbers that High. Just wondering if you could email it to me so I can edit the numbers to make them better fit my students.
    Thanks! Krista krista.haun@cms.k12.nc.us

  19. I used this today with my 3rd graders as a review before our test next week. They loved it! It was a great review of all the concepts we covered (including numbers through the hundred thousands place). They asked me for more activities like this. :) One thing, we noticed that questions 10 & 11 were the same (asking to switch the 1,000s and 100,000s place). I assumed one of those was meant to have different places. It was no big deal, but I wanted to let you know - in case you wanted to fix it. Thanks for providing such an awesome activity - for free!

  20. Could you email it if you are still allowing others to use your activity? It will not come up for me to download. I would love to use it with my kids soon.

  21. I notice this is an old post, so perhaps that is why the download button is no longer active? If you still email, might you be willing to share a copy? I send gratitude and thank yous in advance if so! tzelano@nps.org
