Mini Giveaway Winner

Thank you all for your fabulous ideas about how to use ifaketext.com in your classrooms! You guys are all so truly creative!

Here is our winner!!

Lorena, please be thinking about which item from my shop you would like!

I'm still plugging away ay my text feature posters. Working on my computer for extended periods of time has been really difficult since everything happened last year. I get dizzy really easily and it's so frustrating! I just want to be able to go back to the way it was before where I could just knock out a product in like two days!  Oh well...things just take longer these days and I just need to get used to it.

I'll be leaving for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a week on Saturday with some girlfriends and I am so excited!!

Technology Website You Don't Want to Miss and a giveaway....

So, there I was just pinning away on Pinterest when I came upon the coolest website!

You can create fake text messages to help get your point across about an idea or concept.

Is that cool, or what?! Just click the image above to go to the actual website.

I am sure a ton of you already know about this cool website, but I thought just maybe, some of you didn't!

The pin linked back to Tammy's Technology Tips for Teachers. You can view some more examples and ideas  by clicking HERE!

I would love to use this for teaching Social Studies. I think you could do a lot with dialogue in writing and even having students create their own fake text messages for back to school getting to know you activities and so much more.

I would love to hear your ideas for how you could use this in your classroom. I will choose one random idea tomorrow to win an item of their choice from my store! Please only comment once and leave your email in the comment!

Annnnnd GO!

Brag Tag Giveaway

Hey blog friends! It's been a hot minute since I've been able to blog and I apologize for that! I have been busy!

Anyway, I was contacted a while back by Boost Promotions about teaming up for a review and giveaway of their amazing brag tags!

In case you are wondering, this is a brag tag!

I bought the little army tag necklaces from Wilson's to hang the tags on.

There are all sorts to choose from! And let me tell you, my students LOVE wearing them around and showing them off to their peers! You can check them all out on their website by clicking HERE!

I thought that the best way to review how successful they have been in my class was to video some of my students telling me their opinion! So, here is my little friend explaining which ones he has and what he thinks of them!

These tags are so amazing and fun! I do the homework club every month. If students have their homework all month long, with the exception of one free miss (cause you know, we all have bad days) then they stay in the homework club! At the end of the month, if they are still in the homework club, they earn a free night of no homework and they also get various treats at lunch. We have done pizza, ice cream, brownies, etc..I do think it's great motivation for them to do their homework. They also get really crazy about not losing their brag tag due to missed homework! At the end of every day, their brag tag necklace returns to their desk and they wear them again the next day.

Our RTI teacher next door asked me about them one day and then ranted and raved about how excited the kids were about them when they go to her class. She said they couldn't stop talking about them! Nuff said!

I use the Homework Club tags, Student of the Week (Helpers), STAR Student (I pick two people every Friday who had a great week), and the Academic Achievement tags for students with all A and all A/B Honor Roll.

I'm sure there are about a million other ways to use these bad boys in your classroom, but this is how I've been doing it for the last couple of weeks! I'd love to hear your ideas on how you would use them too!

And my friends, you can win yourself a 100 brag tags!!

Use the Rafflecopter below to enter! Good luck!! The giveaway will end Saturday at midnight and I will announce the winner on Sunday!
