A little of this and that...

I promised I would be back to share some things we have been working on, so here I am!

In Math, we have been doing some serious geometry. We have been learning about kinds of lines, pairs of lines, the parts of a circle, and angles!

To help us review the different kinds of lines, I gave the students some sequins and cardstock and they created each kind of line. See pictures below!

We have also been studying the branches of our state government. After learning about them, they had to make a branches of government tree as a project grade.

(Aren't they super cute!?)

And then we FINALLY finished up our animal research papers and students were asked to create a poster to display their research. I gave them two sheets they were required to use to show what they learned.

As our Valentine's Day Party craft, I asked students to make Valentine people on their bags! They came out so cute!

This is just a little bit of what we have been doing! I will be back soon with some actual free downloads for some our Geometry activities and the Branches of Government tree template so you can do them too!

And don't forget about my Brag Tag giveaway! It is going on until midnight Saturday! Click HERE to view the post and enter to win yourself 100 brag tags!

Brag Tag Giveaway

Hey blog friends! It's been a hot minute since I've been able to blog and I apologize for that! I have been busy!

Anyway, I was contacted a while back by Boost Promotions about teaming up for a review and giveaway of their amazing brag tags!

In case you are wondering, this is a brag tag!

I bought the little army tag necklaces from Wilson's to hang the tags on.

There are all sorts to choose from! And let me tell you, my students LOVE wearing them around and showing them off to their peers! You can check them all out on their website by clicking HERE!

I thought that the best way to review how successful they have been in my class was to video some of my students telling me their opinion! So, here is my little friend explaining which ones he has and what he thinks of them!

These tags are so amazing and fun! I do the homework club every month. If students have their homework all month long, with the exception of one free miss (cause you know, we all have bad days) then they stay in the homework club! At the end of the month, if they are still in the homework club, they earn a free night of no homework and they also get various treats at lunch. We have done pizza, ice cream, brownies, etc..I do think it's great motivation for them to do their homework. They also get really crazy about not losing their brag tag due to missed homework! At the end of every day, their brag tag necklace returns to their desk and they wear them again the next day.

Our RTI teacher next door asked me about them one day and then ranted and raved about how excited the kids were about them when they go to her class. She said they couldn't stop talking about them! Nuff said!

I use the Homework Club tags, Student of the Week (Helpers), STAR Student (I pick two people every Friday who had a great week), and the Academic Achievement tags for students with all A and all A/B Honor Roll.

I'm sure there are about a million other ways to use these bad boys in your classroom, but this is how I've been doing it for the last couple of weeks! I'd love to hear your ideas on how you would use them too!

And my friends, you can win yourself a 100 brag tags!!

Use the Rafflecopter below to enter! Good luck!! The giveaway will end Saturday at midnight and I will announce the winner on Sunday!
