I always go over genre whenever we are reading read alouds, anthology stories, or pretty much any time I can. I'd love to use your posters to help highlight the genre we are talking about. We could have a genre wall and maybe underneath each poster list books/stories/etc. or draw/print pictures of stories. There are so many options! :)

ReplyDeleteI would use these in a couple of different ways. I would have them in my library to match up with my book bin labels so that the kiddos can use the posters to tell which type of book they are picking out. I would also have a set at my teacher table for the meet with the teacher station. I would use the posters to introduce the story for the week and refer to the poster throughout the week to reinforce genre. Thanks for the giveaway!! Fingers crossed!

I would introduce these cute posters during morning meeting to the whole class and then I would also use them in reading groups and/or my library.

I would use these at the beginning of the year to teach genres. Data has shown our students couldn't identify the different genres. They could also use them as they do genre task cards.
ReplyDeleteI would use these as a bulletin board display in my fourth grade classroom, to serve as a reminder of the genres we've discussed. I'd also print them 4 or 6 to a page, and create sets of flashcards for students to keep in their book boxes. Would love to win a set!!

These are so cute! I think they would really help my students (and me) learning the different components of the various genres in reading. (Tall Tales, Fables, Folktales, Fairy Tales-can be quite confusing) I would L.O.V.E. to win these!! :)
